Divorce, Legal Separation, and Annulment
“As a child of divorce (three times) it is natural that children are the focus of my family law practice. Children are the “victims” of any separation, and they are voiceless in the legal proceedings that surround them. While working with a parent in legal situations, I help them focus on what is best for the child(ren) and how that can be achieved with the legal goals the parent has in the given situation.”

Dissolution (Divorce) & Separation – Divorce isn’t always the answer. In certain situations, parties are better off filing a Legal Separation. In either case, coming to terms that keep the divorce/separation amicable and fair isn’t easy. The other side does not have your best interests in mind, and you need to understand your rights -- rights to property, benefits, and future benefits. California is a community property state. People who represent themselves in Court usually do so without a thorough understanding of what the laws regarding community property mean for them and their rights.
Annulment – Sometimes divorce isn’t even necessary. Certain circumstances give rise to having the Court erase the marriage from existence through the process of annulment. Once the initial qualification for an annulment is met and approved of by the Court, this is a fairly quick and pain free legal process.
