Child Custody & Visitation
“A child needs the love of both parents.  I recall the great anticipation and joy of visits and long summers I got to spend with my father and his family.  I was never involved in the planning of those visits, and for that I’m grateful.  I was allowed to enjoy the love from my parents without too much exposure to their stress!”

Child Custody – Perhaps the most litigated area of Family Law, the decision of who gets to see the children, when and where, is often the most difficult decision to come to.

Legal Custody – In California Legal Custody is given to the parent(s) who will decide on schooling, medical needs and treatments, and any other legal issues involving the child(ren).

Physical Custody – In California the term Physical Custody has little actual meaning.  The term is used in many California family courts to describe with whom the child(ren) spends the majority of their time.

Visitation – Though it seems simple to schedule visitation, a family law attorney regularly makes visitation plans and schedules and can help you avoid pitfalls by thoroughly planning for visitation.
